Painting, printmaking and collage come together through a process of collecting and reworking fragments: photographs, bits of text, memories, found objects and digital material. Familiar elements are broken apart and reassembled – as if trying to explain something not fully remembered. Meaning shifts, connections emerge, and moments are held onto even as they change.

I’m drawn to time and memory – how memories are formed and reshaped, both our collective memory and the personal one, and how we try to make sense of the past and the present through what’s left behind: images, text, art, and so on. I imagine each moment in time like a transparent plastic sheet – synthetic, fragile, and stacking on top of each other. Time gathers in layers, where earlier ones gradually fade behind the new. The further back we try to look, the more blurred and distorted the past becomes – like with fading memories we fill in the gaps with images, stories and imagination, creating a past that is constantly rewritten in dialogue with the present.
